R&d Product Specification Specialist

**Responsibilities**: - Learn, understand, and uphold Ingredient, Formula, and/or Process specification Standards - Maintain and foster relationships with in-market R&D spec teams and external suppliers - Interact with and provide support to all disciplines to ensure complete and accurate specifications. These stakeholders could include some or all of the following: Product Development (PD), Food Safety (FS), Regulatory Affairs (RA), Quality Assurance (QA), Global Procurement (GP), Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA) Manage Supplier relationships and serve as point of contact to gather information/data needed to build specifications; complete timely follow-ups to keep the process moving to completion - Collect supplier questionnaire and manage supplier alignment on spec details - Maintain and update existing specs to ensure compliance with standards - Upload all paperwork (re. Supplier Specs, supporting documentation) into the appropriate IT system and track workflow - Ensure all requests are processed, documented, and delivered within defined SLAs(Service Level Agreements) Work with and provide guidance to suppliers in completing the requirements of thespecification in the following key areas: - Ingredient Composition - All Chemical, physical and other parameter requirement. - Claims/Compliance related with QA/FS - Food safety Requirements - Allergen - Test method and limit of for FS and Performance parameters - Ingredient Micro sensitive assessment. - Other Spec General information - Work with Functional Approvers (Regulatory, Quality, Food Safety, Product Development,Analytical and Micro), and facilitate engagement with the relevant stakeholders like GP,SQA and QC for enrichment of specifications as per Global business workflows - Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) of systems related to creation of specifications as may be required - Report gaps, roadblocks or findings and support on finding solutions and help facilitate closure with IT SMEs - Understand the PepsiCo Global Ingredient Standard and Supplier Standard, and become proficient in associated IT Applications Qualifications: - 1-2 years in Product Development, Quality (specification related) or Specification Writing - Well-versed on Microsoft Office and Excel. - Fluent in written and spoken English Learning agility, self-motivation and desire for continuous self-improvement. - Team player and works well with cross-functional, cross-regional and cross-cultural teams. - Can work independently and has initiative for problem-solving - Must have attention to detail and follow-up characteristics - Ability to manage time effectively across multiple priorities and projects requiring a high degree of organizational and communication skills to ensure requests are delivered in a timely manner - Exceptional data organizational and problem-solving skills with attention to detailand accuracy **“PepsiCo is an Equal Opportunity Employer in line with the Employment Equity Act"
