Technical Investment Writer: Financial Services

**Responsibilities**:
General
- To fully understand the business as well as its products and services, and create and develop technically sound and accessible content to properly represent the business in marketing, business development, and client relationship management
- Work with the investment management and product development teams and marketing team in developing and updating content to best represent the business
- Project manage and become the content expert for responses to requests for proposals (RFPs) and Due Diligence Questionnaires
- Coordinate with internal business units to research and gather any further information necessary to prepare a responsive submission to RFPs or DDQs
- To develop and refine proposal processes and proposal library content
- Contributes to the achievement of the company’s business development and overall strategic objectives
- Work with team members in developing broadcasting content for marketing purposes.
Create, Manage and Utilise Content
- Review, rewrite and/or create collateral (prose and presentation)
- Drive maintenance and expansion of library of marketing and business development content and collateral
- Produce and manage submission of proposals, pitches, DDQs and other business development collateral needs
- Project management creation of collateral and PD strategy for new products and services.
Produce Targeted Proposals, Pitch Presentations, Due Diligence Questionnaires (DDQ) and Customised Marketing Collateral
- Manage completion of above where needed with senior executives but in time being able to run to completion full submissions of either RPFs or DDQs
- Drive maintenance and usage of the company’s online Content Chooser library
- Available to work hours outside of 9 to 5 as occasionally required to meet RFP/DDQ deadlines
- Assist in writing, proofreading, and editing as required.
**Requirements**:
- Financial BCom or relevant Degrees
- 5-8 years of experience of working in asset management/investments in a technical marketing/RFP writer or similar role, with a willingness to learn about complex investment products
- Experience in marketing communications and translating technical information into client friendly communication.
- Proven experience of writing and reviewing investment communications to meet business and marketing objectives. Deep understanding of engaging audiences through compelling content.
- Experience working with various stakeholders and the ability to build good working relationships by understanding needs and requirements
- Investment knowledge: good technical understanding of financial markets, asset classes, investment vehicles, consulting process
- Knowledge of retirement fund, medical aid and various investment related regulatory and legislative environment
- Proficient in the MS Office suites (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to write for multiple audiences and stakeholders
- Ability to manage and control multiple priorities and competing deadlines whilst maintaining excellent attention to detail
- Understanding of, investment management, financial products, retirement industry and the financial services market
- Particular advantage if prior experience with CISCA, UCITS and AIFMD product requirements
- Skilled in writing and editing promotion/marketing content for financial products and services
- RFP production and tender management experience
- Comfortable using web-based software and systems, and quick to learn new technology/systems
- Excellent project management and administration skills
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Excellent grasp of the English language (reading and writing), with a good understanding of financial services and asset management terminology.
- Advanced proficiency in PowerPoint and Word
- Excellent attention to detail
- Motivated by producing excellent work under tight deadlines
- Willingness to occasionally work odd hours (i.e., early mornings, late nights) to meet deadlines
- Ability to work individually, and as part of a team, with a client centric attitude
- Highly creative and an excellent writer but also process-driven, organised, a self-starter, detail focused and self-managed
- Excellent at listening, questioning, and responding to gained information
- Comfortable working in a highly flexible, entrepreneurial environment.
