**Epko Oil Seed Crushing (Pty) Ltd is a progressive**
**company involved in the procurement and processing**
**of oilseeds, the sales of vegetable oil and related**
**products. The plant, with a capacity of processing**
**220k/MT sunflower seeds and processes which**
**equates to 25% of the total sunflower seed harvest in**
**South Africa, is situated in Lichtenburg
We currently have the following position available:
**Senior Plant Operator**
**PURPOSE OF POSITION**:
The purpose of the position is to operate and control the plant in order to ensure the effective extraction of oil and
meal from the seed, while ensuring quality of these products.

**RESPONSIBILITIES AND OBJECTIVES: **
Control the crushing plant via the SCADA system in a manner that will ensure excellent yields and quality

of products

Interpret quality results and take corrective/preventative action in order to ensure the quality of final

product

Setting and adjusting of machines and equipment to ensure correct operation

Control quality

Plant inspections during stoppages

Corrective action

Housekeeping in the plant

Raise job-cards for all corrective action required

Act as Shift manager in the absence of a Shift manager (experience and performance dependant)

Manage employees under his control

Identify and implement corrective action

Machine inspection and repair during stoppages

Perform tasks delegated by the Shift Manager

Implement and adhere to all SHE and Food safety standards

Perform mass balance calculation on oil and meal production.

**QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS: **
Grade 12

Mathematics at grade 10 level minimum

**EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS: **
Minimum of 4 years’ experience in operating seed crushing equipment.
