Manufacturing Manager Manufacturing

Northern Suburbs, Cape Town - Western Cape - South Africa

Reporting to the COO, you will be responsible for operating all production plants regarding production, quality, cost, delivery, technical, safety, and human resources whilst respecting the defined goals. Manage all aspects of the shift by collaborating with the Shift Supervisors for delivering. Strive to continually improve production using Lean tools to reduce costs and improve production quantity and quality. Act independently at the organisational level.

Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

- A relevant manufacturing/engineering degree is preferred
- Higher National Diploma or equivalent NQL Level 5 qualifications essential
- Significant work experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment specifically the Plastics industry
- Extensive plant-level experience with significant proven supervisory experience
- Understanding of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Kaizen, lean manufacturing
- Full understanding of design and production costs to include waste, downtime, scrap and re-work
- Understanding of manufacturing and procurement/supply chain
- Understanding of ISO 9001
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems experience beneficial
- Strong people and performance management skills
- Full understanding of customer expectations and deliverables with an awareness of the impact of failure/cost of poor quality
- Must be able to take part in Operational Excellence improvement initiatives
- Must be willing to work overtime or extended hours when required
