**The appointee should**:

- Be in possession **NQF 8 (Post graduate Diploma / Honours Degree / Professional Qualification Degree)**:

- Have at least _5 years experience in a related role, of which 2 years should have been at a management level or experience in a functional/specialist area._
- Have** IT and Manual audit or control documentation** experience and process understanding.
- Understand and/or **perform location scoping and materiality assessments.**:

- Be experienced in the **drafting of and presentation of deficiency evaluations.**:

- Have a minimum of **5 years SOX testing and/or implementation** related experience.
- Be a critical thinker with problem identification abilities.
- Be able to manage conflicts and resolve problems.
- Have good verbal and written communication skills.
- Be proficient in identifying **key financial reporting risks and controls.**:

- Have a sound understanding of the** PCAOB and SEC requirements** and developments.
- Be proficient in** reviewing of team members work** to ensure that it meets the requirements in terms of the **SOX methodology and PCAOB guidance.**:

- Have computer skills (MS Office).
- Understand the internal and **external micro and macro risk factors**.
- Have good financial and business acumen.
- Understand the principles of Talent Management and the impact on the organisation
- Be declared medically fit for the position and environment, as determined by a risk-based medical examination at the relevant Occupational Health Centre

**Key responsibilities**:

- Financial reporting compliance, project planning, materiality calculations, scoping, risk assessment, process flow documentation, internal control design, documentation and evaluation, evaluation of control deficiencies and guiding management in terms of deficiency evaluations.
- Developing a deep understanding of the companys business and IT processes while working closely with the CFO, SVP Finance Corporate, VP Group Internal Audit, Manager SOX, Group Corporate Reporting team and cross functional business units to identify, design, and document the Companys internal control environment.
- Maintaining and contribute to the Methodology for the SOX Compliance function.
- Assisting the Manager SOX in developing and maintaining an effective control environment that complies with the testing and reporting requirements of SOX Sec 404.
- Serving as liaison between the process owners, SOX co-sourced providers, and the external auditors.
- Assisting in the development and management of the SOX project lifecycle (including scoping, financial reporting risk identification, control documentation, process flows (process and RCM), remediation and reporting (IT and Non-IT).
- Managing and coordinating the quarterly CSA and CEQ process and the escalation of overdue submission.
- Analysing CEQ results and assess the appropriate actions to be taken on items reported.
- Performing risk analysis to identify financial reporting risks within in-scope systems and processes and identify, draft, and implement SOX controls to address the identified financial reporting risks.
- Collaborating with process and control owners on the ongoing design, documentation, and remediation of SOX control deficiencies.
- Coordinating and tracking remediation of internal/external control deficiencies, identification of control gaps and remediation efforts.
- Delivering advisory work in complex SOX programmes in several locations.
- Contributing to the enhancement of the SOX Compliance teams skills to meet the business requirements.
- Adapting timeously to changes in the internal and external environment and any resulting impact on the companys internal controls over financial reporting.
- Ensuring best practice methodologies while not compromising the internal control over financial reporting environment.
- Implementing the use of technology in SOX and internal control process in various department, i.e., identifying process improvement opportunities.
- Adhering to the organisations code of ethics and related procedures.

- Proactively identifying and monitoring process and system changes, and other areas of change that have a direct impact on the Companys financial statements and related disclosures.
