**_ Position Purpose:_**

The Senior Specialist: Dispute Management will be responsible for providing employee relations expertise and support to the

General

Manager: Employee Relations, the Group Employee Relations Department and operating division employee relations

managers in the management of discipline, grievances, dispute resolution and people management investigations

**_ Position outputs:_**
- Assist and support the General Manager in the development and

implementation of an employee relations strategy to support the People Management strategy and the company’s business
strategy;
- Provide employee relations and labour law advice to the company;
- Manage the dispute resolution unit of the Group Employee Relations department;
- Oversee and direct dispute resolution in close collaboration with ER Shared Services and operating divisions;
- Represent the company in disciplinary processes and employment disputes at the Transnet Bargaining Council, the CCMA

and Labour Court;
- Develop and implement dispute prevention and resolution strategies and initiatives;
- Provide expert advice and support to the company on disciplinary matters, grievances and disputes;
- Ensure that disciplinary processes, grievance processes and disputes are managed efficiently, expeditiously and cost

effectively;
- Manage and provide advice on employee complaints to Group, Board,

Department of Public Enterprises, Public Protector, Parliaments and other public institutions, etc;
- Provide legal advice on employment separations and exits;
- Drafting contracts, legal opinions and pleadings in employment disputes;
- Manage collective disputes and liaise with external legal representatives in

collaboration with the Labour Law Unit;
- Contribute to the drafting and review of employment contracts, company policies and procedures;
- Compile reports for key stakeholders on disciplinary, grievance and dispute related matters;
- Develop and implement a model for HR Investigations;
- Conduct and manage HR Investigations;
- Review forensic investigation reports and advise on ER implications;
- Assist and support the General Manager in negotiations and consultations with labour in various engagement structures;
- Assist and support the General Manager in the strategic management and oversight of employee relations across the

company;
- Assist and support the General Manager in drafting company communications and disseminate across the organisation

**_Qualifications & Experience:_**
ÿ An LLB degree or a 4-year degree or advanced diploma (NQF Level 7) in employee relations, labour law or a
related qualification is required;
ÿ Admission as an attorney or advocate
will be a distinct advantage
ÿ A minimum of 8-10 years’ experience
as an employee relations practitioner is
required.
