financial services advisory group is looking for a Personal Lines Underwriter to ensure that all work related to policy administration is done efficiently and timeously in accordance with company and insurer guidelines. The underwriter takes instruction form the Portfolio Manager, Portfolio Manager Assistant, Insurer and the client directly.

**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES, NOT LIMITED TO**:

- Handle telephone calls, both incoming and outgoing
- Obtain quotes for:Existing clients with amendments or additions

New potential clients
- Issue new policies
- Renewal Processing
- Ensure that premiums are competitive
- Do amendments to existing policiesReceived from client

After renewal of policy
Issue confirmation of insurance letters
- WorkpoolCreate tasks

Manage tasks
Make notes on existing tasks
Transfer tasks where required to do so
Complete tasks
- Handle brokers appointments
- Send policy documents to clients
- Correspond with clients with regard to unpaid premiums
- Handle cancellation requests:Discuss cancellation requests with portfolio managers
- Create cross border letters
- Mentor junior staff and assist with training and development when required
- Ensure policy administration is measured and monitored against the different insurers’ guidelines
- Support the Portfolio Manager to attract and retain clients through competitive insurance premiums and fees that is able to cover any potential losses from claims
- Any other tasks or projects as requested by management that fall within field of expertise
- Responsible for maintaining and improving knowledge of various products as well as staying abreast of industry and regulatory changes

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- Minimum 2 years' personal lines underwriting experience
- Full FAIS accreditation
- RE5
- CPD hours up to date
- Binder / Outsource experience preferable

**Salary**: R15,000.00 - R20,000.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Cape Town, Western Cape: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
