Investigations Analyst

**Brief**
**The Team**
The team is a multi-disciplinary team, focussed on delivering actionable intelligence and investigations findings that inform Pinsent Masons’ legal advice. The team undertakes a diverse range of work including, but not limited to, the following:
- Conducting research in aid of investigations and compliance mandates;
- Critically analysing and evaluating a vast array of information to identify key risks and actionable intelligence for clients and other stakeholders;
- Drafting comprehensive investigative and research reports.
- A law degree with or without further legal training and admission as a qualified legal practitioner (albeit that admission will be viewed favourably);
- An accounting degree with or without further training and qualification as a chartered accountant;
- Certification as a Certified Fraud Examiner or Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist; or
- An undergraduate degree in economics, forensic accounting, specialist languages (particularly Arabic, Russian, French, Portuguese, Spanish or Mandarin), history or politics.
- Be a recent graduate or a professional in a relevant sector with 0 to 4 years working experience seeking to expand their intelligence and investigations skills.
- Have a track-record of strong academic performance (i.e. cumulative averages of 70% and above), evidenced by regular distinctions and/or class medals, recognition by the Golden Key Society and/or placement on the Dean’s merit list or equivalent.
**Note**:Applicants who do not have a sufficiently strong academic track-record will not be considered.
- Have excellent research skills, as well as written and verbal communication skills.
- Be intellectually curious, seeking to answer complex questions using rigorous and creative research methods.
- The ability to take ownership of tasks and work autonomously to deliver high-quality work products.
- Exhibits behaviours and personal attributes consistent with the firm's core values of being 'approachable', 'bold' and 'connected'.
- Have the right to work and reside in South Africa.
