**Responsibilities**:

- Writing clear, error-free, compelling copy for various mediums (e.g. ads, slogans, social media copy, blog posts, press releases, website content, newsletters).
- Understand brand voice and target audience, interpret creative direction and technical information and turn it into persuasive copy concepts.
- Conducting thorough research and interviews.
- Proofreading work for accuracy and quality.
- Edit and modify existing and contributed content.
- Optimise copy for SEO
- Working with rest of marketing team to build marketing projects and campaigns.
- Assist in the organising of promotional events and attend them to help facilitate their success.
- Performing administrative tasks to ensure the functionality and coordination of the departments activities.
- Internal communication with staff.

**Position Requirements**:
**Formal Education & Certification**
Relevant qualification in copywriting, journalism, marketing communication or a related field OR studying towards such a qualification.

**Knowledge & Experience**
- 2-3 years relevant experience OR formal qualification.
- Proven ability to write persuasive copy in English. Please supply a portfolio of original written work.
- Strong proofreading and editing skills.
- Strong research skills.
- Proficient in MS Office.
- Use word processing tools efficiently and effectively
- Knowledge of the Copyright Act and practical implications.

- Well organised with effective time management skills to ensure that deadlines are met, and quality standards are adhered to.
- Energetic and self-motivated.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and an ability to communicate with a broad range of stakeholders.

- The ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven work environment
- Ensure that issues are escalated to management timeously and appropriately so that resolution is achieved before problems escalate.
- Ensure that all company policies, procedures, systems and methodologies are followed.
