Duties/Pligte
- Verskaf leierskap aan die navorsingspan;
- Ontwikkel en handhaaf standaard bedryfsprosedures en navorsingsvorms;
- Verseker dat daar aan etiese vereistes voldoen word;
- Interaksie met die hoofnavorser en ander ondersoekers om die vervulling van projekdoelwitte te verseker;
- Interaksie met studie ouditeure;
- Assisteer met die beplanning van die projek om die uiteengesitte doelwitte te bereik;
- Bestuur van beide mediese en nie-mediese personeel;
- Versamel data vir terugrapportering aan borge;
- Uitvoering van al die bestuursfunksies van die projek;
- Rapporteer aan borge oor die vordering van die projek;
- Bestuur alle borgnavrae;
- Bestuur van die operasionele behoeftes van die terrein, insluitend die gesondheids
- en veiligheidsvereistes.
- Providing leadership to the research team;
- Developing and maintaining standard operating procedures and research forms;
- Ensuring that ethical requirements are fulfilled;
- Interacting with the principal investigator and other investigators to ensure the fulfilment of project goals;
- Interacting with study auditors;
- Assisting with the planning of the project to achieve the outlined goals and objectives;
- Managing both medical and non-medical staff;
- Collecting data for reporting back to sponsors;
- Performing all the managerial functions of the project;
- Reporting to sponsors about the progress of the project;
- Managing all sponsor enquiries;
- Managing the operational needs of the site, including the health and safety requirements.

Job Requirements/Pos Vereistes
- Verpleegkunde of verwante kwalifikasie, BCur-graad, of 'n vierjarige verpleegdiploma;
- Vyf jaar navorsingservaring, verkieslik in aansteeklike siektes en/of MIV;
- Vier jaar ervaring as 'n projekbestuurder of studiekoördineerder;
- Uitstekende administratiewe en organisatoriese vaardighede;
- Rekenaargeletterdheid;
- Die vermoë om goed binne 'n span sowel as onafhanklik te werk;
- Bestuurservaring in 'n navorsingsomgewing;
- 'n Geldige rybewys om landelike terreine/ gebiede te besoek;
- Die vermoë om 'n goeie werksklimaat onder die studiepersoneel te ontwikkel en te handhaaf;
- Ervaring met MIV en aansteeklike siektes.
- Nursing or related qualification, BCur degree, or a four-year Nursing Diploma;
- Five years' research experience, preferably in infectious diseases and/or HIV;
- Four years' experience as a project manager or study coordinator;
- Excellent administrative and organisational skills;
- Computer literacy;
- The ability to work well within a team as well as independently;
- Management experience in research environment;
- A valid driver's licence to visit rural sites;
- The ability to develop and maintain a good working climate among the study personnel;
- Experience with HIV and infectious diseases.

Recommendation/Aanbeveling
- Agtergrond in pediatriese of perinatale MIV;
- 'n Belangstelling in die gemeenskap en navorsingsvaardigheidsontwikkeling;
- GCP ervaring.
- Background in paediatric or perinatal HIV;
- An interest in the community and research skills development;
- GCP experience.
