Efficiency - Manage work centre efficiency to maintain >80% efficiency per month/per annum; - Optimise an effective utilisation of resources in order to meet production throughput ; - Training and coaching employees in obtaining set objectives; and - Innovation in processes and methods. Planning, Organising, Leading & Controlling - Minimise overtime by effective utilisation of resources; - Daily review of planning schedules to be able to adjust the build schedule in line with customer commitments; - Coordinate all department’s functions in order to meet these objectives; - Effective utilisation al all factory resources essential in manging the day to day operations; - Measure all aspects of the production throughput and process in order to achieve targets; - Maintenance, breakdowns and job requests, follow-up and communicated with the maintenance supervisor; and - 100% WIP and Works order control. Quality and cost of QA - Adherence to the quality management systems requirements; - Minimise scrap rate to below the agreed annual budgeted value; - Continuous improvement of existing processes and methods; - Ongoing quality training and awareness for staff; and - Housekeeping levels in line with standards implemented. Effective People Management - Performance, efficiencies, time and attendance monitored in accordance with company objectives; - Maintain a high standard of discipline and adherence to Company policy; - Team members’ training needs to be identified and steps taken to provide necessary development; - All documentation completed as per company requirements e.g. leave, overtime, staff change requisition etc.; - Partake in the shop stewards and management meetings as per a set agenda and ensure proper communication /feedback to all staff; - All overtime pre-authorised and controlled; - Development and coaching required for all subordinates ; - Ensure optimized team work through motivation/empowerment and leading by sound transformational leadership; - Promote teamwork/provide support and manage performance by creating/maintaining individual development plans for subordinates ; - Enforce discipline within area of responsibility ; - Ensure all employees are effectively trained and competent to perform required duties in a disciplined manner; and - Coach, mentor & manager P1P2 students. Project Management & Budgeting - Evaluate and complete projects with minimum risk, within allocated timeframes and according to specified budgetary requirements; - Create and sustain a high-performance culture by implementing high performance culture strategy; and - Plan personnel/headcount requirements as per the different cost centres Safe and Healthy Work Environment - Maintain and ensure a healthy environment, safe operations and practices, ensuring compliance with all applicable SHE policies and procedures in line with set standards; and - Encourage a culture that focuses on safety in all operations. Reports and Communication - Commitment to deadlines essential; - Effective communication regarding build schedule, customer deliveries or deviations that may occur; - Weekly/Monthly reports per agreed templates; and - Feedback and follow-up essential. Adherence to all Company Policies, procedures and standard operating procedures and ensure familiarisation with all available amendments - Adherence to all SHEQ policies at all times and advise other staff members to do so; - The right to stop production when non-conforming products are being made; - The right to investigate non-conformances and implement corrective actions where appropriate; and - The right to carry out disciplinary action up to and including final written warning.
