Somerset West, South Africa Health Staff Full time

Our client, a specialist nursing facility for geriatric residents diagnosed with Dementia, is looking for a Social Worker to work with our OT.

**Responsibilities include, but not limited to**:

- Ensuring Optimal Quality of Life for all the residents
- Interacting regularly with the Multi-Disciplinary Team, consisting of: Internal Estate Employees (Head of Healthcare, Registered Nurse (RN), Enrolled Nurse (EN), Enrolled Nurse Auxiliary (ENA), Care Providers (CP) and Occupational Therapist (OT).
- Ensuring the following services are delivered effectively - including regular reporting to the Head of Healthcare.
- Liaising with the OT and other companions, ensuring that the activity program is implemented and according to the occupational therapists’ guidelines.
- Family relations management
- Operations and Facilities duties
- Managing the admission of a new residents according to the Admission Process as per protocol
- Being at the Estate, on a rotation basis with the other companions and OT, for a weekend (Saturday or Sunday), for specific hours as required
**Qualifications & Experience**
- Secondary Qualification: Matric Certificate
- Relevant Tertiary Qualification in a healthcare field / social science
- Language Professional Proficiency (read, write & speak)
- 1-3 years’ work experience in the healthcare/dementia industry and working with the elderly
**Desired**:

- Any healthcare related or caring background
- Third language an advantage
**Essential**:

- Clean criminal record
- Driver’s license and own transport
