Logistics Co-ordinator

**_PURPOSE OF JOB:_**

To provide ongoing support to customers by leading the Logistics Team to maintain a safe working environment that produces high quality products in a productive manner, delivered to the customer on time.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

- Matric Diploma or Degree in Logistics Management/Supply Chain or equivalent Minimum 5 years Supervisory experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Stock management knowledge.
- Intermediate computer literacy (MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook Express) Risk Management
- Knowledge and experience of problem solving techniques.
- Knowledge and experience working with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.

**_ADVANTAGEOUS:_**
- Toyota Production Systems (TPS).
- Automotive Industry experience. Waste management.
- IATF knowledge (advantageous).

**_DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES:_**
- Promote a safe working environment and encourage Team Leader and team members to follow.
- Ensure all Safety Requirements are adhered to at all times.
- Plan, Coordinate and Supervise the daily operations and functions of the logistics team in order to meet customer requirements.
- Ensure that raw material orders are placed with suppliers on time and delivered within lead time.
- Ensure that raw material received is in correct acceptable standard.
- Ensure all documents received with new orders are verified.
- Ensure that FIFO is followed.
- Coordinate all necessary activities to ensure waste management.
- Develop logistics reports including external customer SOH daily reports and send to management.
- Ensure that production has sufficient min/max raw material to ensure that production doesn't stop.
- Ensure that FGS Min/Max is maintained and be proactive in engaging with production if stock levels are not maintained.
- Ensure that DIFOT (Delivery-ln-Full-On-Time) targets are met for all customers.

**_JOB SPECIFICATION_**
- Escalate to management for SSN's and special orders.
- Conducts cycle counts and stock take to ensure proper stock control.
- Proactive in organizing packaging and dunnages to ensure for production to runs smoothly.
- Ensure service parts manifests are verified and parts are delivered on time.
- Conduct morning meetings, discussion and feedback with team members.
- Ensure compliance and Regulatory items meets requirement.
- Manage accuracy of stock received, stored and delivered to customers
- Lead Continuous Improvement (Kaizen) activities to ensure Company targets are achieved.
- Supervise overtime requirements to support customers' demands
- Develop and Manage Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and ensure Team Leader and Team member's adherence to the SOP's.
- Ensure Team flexibility by implementing cross training and multiskilling of Team leader and Team members.
- Ensure that Skills Matrix is updated timeously every time training has been conducted.
- Monitoring daily work performance and offer coaching if there is a need.
- Promote QC Circle activities by mentoring and guiding Team Leader and Team Members.
- Maintain 2SIY in the production plant daily.
- Prepare and submit daily, weekly reports to management.
- Report Logistics monthly performance to Management in Monthly Functional Meeting.
- Promote PDCA activities to resolve problems.
- Ensure Products meet the quality standards required by the Customer.
- Work closely with other cross functional departments, to ensure efficient plant operations.
- Manage workplace issues, i.e., Disciplinary, counselling and grievance processes.
- Ensure people management on shopfloor to maintain discipline.
- Prepare Management Review report indicating company performance in relation to target set up in the Company Policy.
- Clear understanding of company policy and owner for own area task management.
- Knowledge for 8D and able to train for team leader and members.
- Ensure 2S is maintained within the department and surrounding departments.
- Administer performance Evaluation for Logistics Team.

**_ADDITIONAL:_**

Day Shift position — however must be prepared to support operation on night shift if required. Work weekends/overtime as per customer requirements
