CIB Global Markets is currently looking for a Securities Lending and Borrowing Specialist (SBL) to join the Post Trade Services team.

Keeping abreast of regulatory changes directly or indirectly affecting the Securities Lending Industry.

Liaising and communicating with external Custodians, Strate and Counterparty operations’ teams.

Act as the escalation point for client queries and complaints, provide excellent customer service through proactive communication with clients, trade support or front office and prompt response to queries

Implement efficient and effective systems and processes to ensure superior performance of the unit in terms of the various modes of effecting settlements.

Assist in rolling out and embedding new policies and procedures in the organization.

Essential in-depth knowledge required around the operating process and interaction with the South African regulators, JSE and STRATE.

Conduct basic statistical analysis to track performance variances and determine the root causes of errors. Ensure that defined processes, control requirements and risk management frameworks that have been designed for the area are understood and strictly adhered to.

Drive continuous improvement within the business with process owners through identifying opportunities and prioritizing minor works and projects with the Change team.

Track projects and minor work initiatives and coordinate and facilitate user acceptance testing.

Develop and maintain strong relationships with other up and downstream functional and support areas (Front Office, Operations, Product Control, Client On-Boarding, Internal Control and other Risk teams).

Education and Experience Required
- B Com or relevant commerce degree
- SAIFM-related certification, advantageous.
- Minimum 5 years exposure to Equities and Bonds Settlements in the South African market with strong focus on Securities Lending and Borrowing.
- Up to date with Strate Market Rules and Directives within the Securities Lending and Borrowing context.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office suite, Excel Intermediate Level required.
- Working knowledge of SWIFT and the payments landscape
