Regional Sales Manager

The Big Picture:
ESAB South Africa, a division of Howden Africa (Pty) Ltd is looking for a Regional Sales Manager to grow the sales of ESAB products within the KZN region, including direct contacts with the main distributors and key accounts. Provide market intelligence for own and Regional purposes. Set the area sales performance targets in line with Sub Saharan Africa regional requirements. Develop market opportunities for ESAB products. Ensure the Sub Saharan African business plan is implemented effectively within the area. Ensure that S&A resources are utilised effectively.
What needs to be done?
- Pursue sales leads; visit existing and new customers
- Assess customer needs and suggest appropriate products and services
- Respond to customer enquiries
- Negotiate prices and delivery times within limits of authority
- Conclude sales orders to meet revenue targets
- Identify, research, and contact prospective customers and build positive relationships that will generate future sales and repeat business.
- Identify products and/or process which provide solutions for current and prospective customers fabrication
- needs in conjunction with the product managers
- Refer sales leads, customer feedback and information on competitor activity to appropriate contacts within the
- organization so that they can respond to changing market conditions and customer demands
- Establish annual, quarterly, monthly, or weekly sales plans and prioritize and schedule own activities so these targets are met.
- Comply with ISO9001, OCHSA 18001 and ISO14001
- Lead the safety effort and awareness within area of responsibility
- Routinely conduct safety observation and highlight any non-conformances
- Manage performance of associates by conducting performance appraisals. Complete development plans for all associates based on the tools provided. Look at ways of continuous improvement
- Adhere to all SOX Compliance Controls with reverence to the narratives applicable to your area of responsibility
What do you need to bring?
- Degree or Diploma in Sales/ Marketing.
- Technical qualification
- 5 -10 years relevant experience in sales management or marketing.
- Proven people management skills.
- Product/ technical knowledge is essential.
- Be proactive, dynamic, self-motivated, aggressive and sales orientated.
- Communication skills (Oral and Written)
- Influencing and selling skills.
- Intermediate knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel and Projects.
