Our client currently has an opportunity for a Quality Control Supervisor in their Supply Chain & Bulk department, Vanderbijlpark, reporting to the Supply Chain & Distribution Manager. The Quality Control Supervisor will be responsible for the safe operation, optimisation and maintenance of all laboratory instrumentation and equipment at the Vanderbijlpark and Natref laboratories; the training and supervision of laboratory personnel; ensure the smooth running of the Vanderbijlpark and Natref QC laboratories.

The function includes on-site operations, packaged gas operations and bulk operations support and communication.

Position details:
1. Responsible for managing the Vanderbijlpark and Natref laboratory operation and support to the business;
2. Manage the maintenance and improvement of Vanderbijlpark and Natref Laboratories;
3. Manage all VDB and Natref laboratory equipment / technology;
4. Training and Development of laboratory team;
5. Managing the analysis of all products;
6. Customer service (internal / external);
7. Maintain and improve customer, quality, risk and environmental, health & safety authorisations/certifications;
8. Employee management and other departmental support.

Job Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
1. Minimum of a Matric qualification;
2. Minimum of a B Tech qualification or equivalent;
3. Minimum 5 years’ experience in a supervisory capacity in a Laboratory operation;
4. Must have experience/qualification is ISO 9001, FSSC 22 000, ISO 17 025 management systems;
5. Must have strong leadership and communication skills, with an ability to lead and work within a diverse team;
6. Must be proficient in MS Office suite;
7. Must have a strong focus on customer value and quality;
8. Must be willing to work overtime and perform standby duties when required to do so;
9. Must have strong communication and administrative skills;
10. Must have a valid Drivers license and own reliable transport;
11. Must also be willing to travel as and when required.
