- Gauteng- Reporting to: Production Manager- Job Purpose:
- Forecasting supply and demand to prevent overstocking and running out-of-stock- To satisfy manufacturing demand and expectations.- To meet stock levels at economic levels.- To prevent loss and damage of stock under direct control- All purchasing and incoming stock functions- The materials process from demand to receipt of goods from suppliers- Duties and Responsibilities:
- Source and Create New Vocab Numbers and Re-do Traction Descriptions- Identify Brush Holders and create Stock Adjustment to put into Stock - complete stock adjustments to balance.- Sign off Terminals which are not to drawing but are acceptable - get input from sales personnel- Calculate min / max stock levels according to ROP, ABC methods- Create Vocabs for Material to be Purchased - obtain details from requestee for information on the item- Physically have check points and re-order level sheets to provide stores with as a support function- Control and optimise the stock control sheet in excel - export from Crystal into excel- Automate the excel spreadsheet to provide warning levels of critical stock items- Run stock reports at least twice a week- Communicate with the expeditor on stock orders for material for slip ring department-
- Transfer silver block to offcuts - stock adjustment must be made on the correct vocab, stores personnel will advise- Process mechanical requisitions - inform international buyer of items required- Request quotes for coils from international and local buyer- Create W/O in accordance to sales demand to the shopfloors- Update BOM as new items are created and when time allows- Do a monthly inventory forecast using Crystal reports of stock valuation, WIP- Complete an annual forecast report for Shanghai, MECL and National in the 1st Quarter of the new financial year- Use the 80/20 principle of planning and ordering, as well as generating W/O- Request annual forecast from sales engineer, order accordingly the entire BOM- Go through the stock sheet (excel) on a weekly basis and place order according to the warning flags- Run the outstanding orders report every Monday and create W/O according to the outstanding items- Run full report review stock and pass to Operations manager / Sales Manager for suggestions- Prepare stock reports and schedule stock meetings with the relevant stakeholders at least once a month or when an emergency arises- Understand the different production processes in order to identify the correct material for the correct department- Calculate EOQ (economic order quantities)- Do trend analysis on fast moving items - present to Management by-annually or in stock meetings- Double check the stock cards when making stock adjustments to the items- Communicate closely with international buying on delays, rejected parts from the supplier and ad-hoc activities- Plan and coordinate the two stocktakes a year- Be part of the incoming inspection process of goods, communicate to sales accordingly- Update supplier lead times list as it changes, update the formula on excel- Communicate between departments on issues, customer services, sales and production-
**Inherent Requirements**
- Minimum Grade 12- Proven work experience as a Stock Controller, Inventory Manager or similar role.- Good understanding of supply chain procedures- Knowledge of Stock Control / Planning practices and procedures - Inventory Management I, II and III preferable as part of Production Management- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel - Intermediate)- Purchasing Skills- Negotiating Skills- Telephone Etiquette and Communication- Administrative Skills- Skills and Abilities:
- Make decisions that are concise and accurate - involve management for high value items- Demonstrate excellent communication skills - both written and verbal.- Excellent computer skills, including use of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook - strong excel knowledge, at least intermediate to advanced level- Ability to work both as part of a team and under own initiative- Promote good team behaviour- Must have own transport- Conduct your work in a professional manner, professional report writing, presentations and communication- Be willing to participate in psychometric assessment testing for evaluation purposes.- Be willing to attend any course required by senior management to enhance your capabilities.- Enthusiastic and self-motivated.- Strong organisational and planning skills.- Flexible and proactive approach to workload.- Punctual- Able to work in a pressurised environment.- Respect for others’ unique personalities**What Qualification**
