**Description**:
The Junior IT Technician is responsible for providing direct support to end users of IT equipment and related peripherals. The Junior IT Technician will test, diagnose, document, repair, maintain, monitor and/or replace IT equipment and systems as necessary. This also includes the updating of systems and anti-virus protection on devices. The Junior IT Technician may also be assigned to provide technical support to organizational projects. The Junior IT Technician will also develop and maintain effective relationships between its internal and external stakeholders in order to help deliver seamless operational performance and maximum uptime.
**Responsibilities**:
**Support**:
- Perform helpdesk duties
- Monitor and manage new and reopened tickets.
- Provide accurate first-level support towards end-users regarding their IT related issues and provide accurate and timely feedback (Level 1 - 2)
- Follow-up with the end-user to ensure that the issue is resolved
- Aid fellow team members where necessary
**End User Computing**:
- Maintenance, Optimisation of end user Computer Infrastructure
- Keeping documentation up to date
- Organise and schedule upgrades and maintenance with mínimal disruption
- Maintain records/logs of repairs and fixes and maintenance schedule
- Maintain printer toner inventory to ensure availability
- Maintain A4 printing paper inventory to ensure availability
- Record changes made to IT equipment in the asset register
**CCTV**:
- Deployment, Maintenance, Optimisation of CCTV Infrastructure
- Setting up and keeping CCTV documentation up to date
**Cybersecurity**:
- Ensure security and privacy of computer systems environment (Installing, updating and monitoring)
- Work with IT Team to enforce cybersecurity and information security as defined by IT policies and procedures
**Projects**:
- Ensure that all allocated projects are delivered on-time
- Report and escalate as needed
**Requirements**:
**Mandatory**:
- National Senior Certificate (Grade 12)
**Advantageous**:
- MCSE: Core Infrastructure Certification
- CompTIA Certifications (A+, N+ or Equivalent)
- 1-2 years IT related work experience
- Valid driver’s license (Code B or higher)
**Knowledge**:
- Microsoft Active Directory
- CCTV
- End-user support
- Computer hardware systems (Desktop)
- Basic Networking
**Skills**:
- Literate and bilingual in Afrikaans and English
- Customer service-oriented
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights
