Finance Director category

Our client is a well-established manufacturing company is looking for a Finance Director(Category) to lead the profitability of the category and responsible for the strategic objectives, whilst focusing on Budget and Forecast.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Provide analysis of actual results compared to plan/target.
- Identify sustainable mitigating plans deliver on committed targets within the month whilst balancing medium to long-term strategy
- Strong financial support through the planning process
- Analysis of budget & forecast,
- Ensures that investment choices, aligned to brand strategic priorities,
- Work together with cross-functional teams to deliver on the capex plan
- Challenges and supports the development of the financial assumptions
- Ensures that the budget owners understand and adopt the right methodology.
- Ensures accurate budget cost allocation; approves costs depending on level of authorisation.
- Ensures that budget targets and guidelines are cascaded to the relevant stakeholders
- Drive and lead, continuous improvement agenda within the category across factory, sales and marketing
- Actively support the PS&OP process within the category
- Promote a robust control & governance environment
- Ensuring compliance to policies and procedures across the category
- Internal and external audit to minimise risk to the business.
- Review and approve expenditure
- Review trade spending that falls outside pre-approved limits
- Review the financial results (packs) monthly including balance sheet reconciliations and present insights to the Category Exco
- Fully accountable for managing the shared services

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- (CA) SA or similar qualification
- 6+ years' experience in FMCG environment
- Strong analytical and conceptual abilities
- Strategic skills
- Ability to managing complexity -multiple stakeholders, countries and categories
- Category experience is non-negotiable
- Must have FMCG background and experience

Contract length: 6 months

**Salary**: From R1,000,000.00 per year
