Construction Estimator

A reputable company in Blackheath is looking for a Construction Estimator to join their team.

Duties include but not limited to:

- Understanding the projects, programs and different building methods within the company
- Gathering proposals, drawings, specifications and related documents
- Identifing labour, material and time requirements by studying the proposals, drawings, specifications and related documentation
- Assisting with the preparation of tender and contract documents, formulating / complete BOQs, rate build-ups, variation orders and quotations
- Undertaking cost analysis for the required project work
- Assisting in establishing client requirements and undertaking feasibility
- Gathering first-hand information from sites, warehouses etc.
- Setting priorities
- Performing risk analysis along with the tender committee
- Presenting prepared estimates by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information
- Creating and submitting estimate reports or tenders to the appropriate manager/s, clients etc.
- Providing consultation on planning (e.g. manpower, schedules etc.)
- Maintaining cost data base by entering and backing up data
- Maintaining technical knowledge
- Creating a list of all needed material with an estimated amount to complete the project
- Maintaining quality service by following the organisation’s standards
- Qualification in Quantity Surveying / Estimating or similar field
- Certified as Professional Estimator would be advantageous
- 5+ years’ experience in construction estimating
- Strong understanding of alternative building solutions
- Ability to read architectural plans and develop cost estimates
- Strong background in technical side of building construction
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant software
