**Entity and activity description**
In this position, the incumbent is accountable to ensure that all Package Gas (PG) Operations are managed in line with the best practices of the Air Liquide Group. Their ability to work in a local and international matrix organisation will allow them to reach operational excellence and the level of efficiency required for the company to remain competitive in the market. The incumbent will perform in the field execution of Packaged Gas projects, as well as manage the process improvement analysis to ensure the process implementation is fully compliant with South African Regulations and the Air Liquide Industrial Management System (IMS) requirements, with a particular emphasis on safety

**Missions and Responsibilities**
- Responsible for development and deployment of a maintenance strategy nationally which entails understanding the critical spare parts needed in the facilities, that costs are clearly understood by operational management and to ultimately enable procurement of these spare parts.
- The incumbent will work alongside the technical manager and industrial manager, in designing and implementing the industrial strategy for the PG organization.
- Participate in the development and review of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and methods related to PG plants, to improve the effectiveness, efficiency and performance output.
- Identify, define and/or manage implementation of various projects or initiatives within PG in order to improve safety, reliability and efficiency through IMS.
- Implement the necessary risk mitigation measures and lead the technical activity (design, build, test) in a significant or complex project, for the achievement of technical deliverables.
- In collaboration with various stakeholders, is responsible for PG industrial reporting to the AL Group.
- Produce consolidated monthly reports that cover safety, reliability and expenditure for the PG department in line with the reporting guidelines of Air Liquide.
- Coach and lead others in acquiring knowledge, and provide expert advice, participate in the development, defining and implementation of the competency matrix for the PG organization.
- Prioritize training in all safety critical tasks followed by supporting functions training.
- Provide training of personnel in the operational departments including coaching Graduate Engineers as and when required.

**Competencies and Profile**
Education
- Bachelor Level Qualification within Chemical or Mechanical Engineering

Experience
- 4-5 years experience in a Management level Production Management
- Experience executing Project management within production facility
