Actuarial Specialist

**Role Purpose**
An opportunity exists for a recently qualified or almost qualified actuary within the Mmerge team that focuses on the testing of actuarial values. The individual will be involved in establishing actuarial values testing capability, building and maintaining appropriate testing tools and conducting ongoing and ad hoc regression testing on Momentum, Metropolitan Life and Africa retail products. This role will include testing on OB, PDS and Exergy in terms of verifying values as well as system processes. The role also includes managerial responsibilities.
**Requirements**:
**Experience & Qualifications**
- A graduate degree in Actuarial Science
- An honours degree in Actuarial Science
- Recently qualified or nearly qualified actuary
- 2-5 years' relevant work experience
- Advanced Excel and intermediate SQL capabilities will be required
**Duties & Responsibilities**
**Responsibilities and Work Outputs**
- Building of appropriate testing tools for migration (Metropolitan Life and Africa segments):
- For the purposes of the Metropolitan Life system migration, to perform accurate build-up of values up to the point of migration, taking cognisance of any existing errors or system shortcomings
- Building and/or utilising existing testing tools for ongoing regression and user acceptance testing (Metropolitan Life, Momentum and Africa segments)
- Drafting and maintaining thorough documentation of testing processes
- Supporting cross-functional teams within the department
- Managing own performance and development
- Supporting direct reports in terms of their training, work output and development
- Presenting results of testing exercises to key stakeholders and assisting in decision-making
