**As the Network Security Specialist, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining the network security infrastructure to ensure the highest level of protection for the organization's assets.**

The incumbent will be expected to develop new approaches to security In conjunction with the Global Team that keep the company ahead of malware authors and other would-be data thieves. Protecting current computer assets, by studying and presenting recommendations or innovative methods to detect and patch system vulnerabilities before they can be exploited. To support first reactors of security incidents engaging the Incident response policy and plans.

Duties include (but are not limited to):

- Plan, implement and upgrade security measures and controls
- Establish plans and protocols to protect digital files and information systems against unauthorized access, modification and/or destruction
- Perform proactive vulnerability testing, risk analyses and security assessments of redeployed systems
- Conduct internal and external security audits
- Configure network, intrusion detection and prevention systems
- Test security breaches strategies and recommend mitigation configuration options or strategies
- Recommend and install appropriate tools and countermeasures
- Define, implement, and maintain corporate security policies, standards, procedures, and guidelines
- Drive awareness of vendors / supplier compliance requirements to information security standards, and ensure adherence thereof
- Train fellow employees in security configuration best practice and procedures
- Assess security configurations and plans with internal and external stakeholders
- Contribute to IT security reports by providing information about risks, attack vectors, threats
- Keep abreast of and share details of new and on-going information security issues, threats, remediation/mitigation steps and latest technologies, network, firewall and VPN performance monitoring and capacity analysis and recommendations
- Engagement and recommended improvements of Security incident response plans and business continuity plans
- Daily triage, and update/resolution of tickets generated by JIRA ticketing system and respond to inbound phone and electronic requests for technical assistance
- Ensure network security best practices and governance policies are implemented through auditing: router, switch, firewall configurations, change control, and monitoring
- Provide periodic vulnerability testing, and lead remediation projects
- Formulate systems and methodologies as well as respond to security related events and assist in remediation efforts
- Coordinate, and monitor log analysis for our managed network security services offerings, to ensure customer policy and security requirements are met
- Follow project management methodology and demonstrate best-practices in network documentation as required
- Management of Security reporting and assurance tools such as FortiAnalyzer and Algosec
- Ensure active Management of IPS and IDS Technologies are in line with the company Security practices
- Ensure active Management of Application and Web Filtering Technologies are in line with the company Security practices
- Ensure active management of Firewall Technologies are in line with the company Security practices
- Ensure active management of DDOS Technologies are in line with the company Security practices
- Ensure active management of FortiClient and FortiClientEMS technologies
- Ensure active management of Network Detection and Response (NDR) technologies
- Ensure active management of Cloudflare CDN and WAF technologies
- Ensure active management of Domains and Zone files
- Ensure active management of Public SSL Certificate and PKI Infrastructure
- Ensure active management of AWS cloud network security components
- Ensure active management of load balancing technologies
- Excellent communication skills and experience working in a collaborative environment
- Excellent documentation skills and compiling of Audit/Operational/Schematic reports
- Liaise between different departments within A&O on security related items

**Requirements**:

- Matric or equivalent of Senior certification
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science from a recognised institute. (e.g. Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering)
- Fortinet NSE4 and NSE7 Certified (Non Negotiable)
- AWS experience (highly beneficial)
- 5+ years Networking experience
- 3+ years Network Security experience
- CISSP Certified (Completed or in progress)
- Certified Hacker (Beneficial)
- Certifications from ISO 27001,ISF, NIST or ISACA
- Experience in performing internal audits and implementing security controls is a must.
- Experience is security risk assessments and risk treatment plans is must.
- Experience in conducting incident/BCP drills is a plus.
