**Requirements**:

- Registered with the South African Nursing Council as a Professional Nurse.
- A minimum of 5 years Professional Nurse clinical experience.
- A minimum of 2-3 years management experience at unit level.
- ICU /CCU trained or experienced is a pre requisite
- Competence in the demonstration and assessment of all relevant clinical procedures and management of risks.
- Good leadership and supervising abilities and role modelling.
- The ability to adapt and respond to change.
- Good planning and organising skills that contribute to meeting objectives.
- The ability to analyse job related data and information to assist in problem-solving.
- Competent in working with people i.e. shows respect for team members' views and contributions, shows empathy, listens, supports and cares for others.

**Key Outputs**:

- Delivers a quality service to patients in accordance with patient safety standards.
- Achieves clinical quality standards according to set policies and procedures.
- Ensures optimal utilisation and competence of staff.
- Mentoring of staff.
- Ensures continuation of patient care through effective supervision.
Co-ordinates clinical and non-clinical resources efficiently to enhance safe patient care.
- Responsible for client relationship management to ensure that quality client service principles are maintained.
- **Responsible for ongoing education on the night shift.**
