My client in the Southern Suburbs is seeking a Bookkeeper to join their successful business.

**Responsibilities**:

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
- Process and reconcile accounts payable and receivable transactions
- Process inter-company invoices
- Reconcile bank statements and ensure the accuracy of financial data
- Reconcile inter-company loans
- Prepare sales invoices and quotes
- Send out customer statements monthly and follow up on payments where necessary
- Prepare payments for authorisation via online banking
- Prepare and submit monthly financial reports to the directors
- Prepare and submit VAT (VAT201) and Employees Tax (EMP201 & EMP501) returns timeously to SARS
- Assist in the reparation of budgets and financial forecasts
- Handle payroll processing and ensure timely and accurate payment to employees
- Timely submission of returns to the Department of Labour and or COIDA
- Monitor and manage petty cash transactions
- Work closely with other departments to gather financial information and provide support as needed
- Implement systems and procedur

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is a plus.
- Bookkeeping diploma from a recognised institution
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in bookkeeping or a similar role
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and practices
- Proficiency in Xero and Dext
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Basic knowledge of South African tax laws and regulations (not essential for the role)
- Relevant qualification in Accounting or Finance
- Familiarity with signage manufacturing and marketing is a plus
