Responsibilities of the Role
- Be a trend setter that believes in doing things the right way from the start. Always look for a better way to do things
- Utilize a data driven approach to guide informed decisions
- Assist the software development and product teams in architecting new services that are secure, can scale, have a high throughput and low latency
- Ensure solutions are designed in line with the Enterprise Architecture roadmaps, aligned to appropriate best practices, standards and methodologies for the Software Development Operations value stream
- Attend and participate in weekly architecture community of practice (COP) meetings

Requirements of the Role
- Undergraduate Degree in Computer Science or technical equivalent
- AWS Solutions Architecture Associate Certification or cloud based equivalent highly advantageous
- **Work Experience**:

- 3+ years technical work experience or equivalent within the software development environment
- Experience in Containerization (Docker / other), Kubernetes or other container orchestration frameworks
- **Proven experience in architecting services that are/has**:

- Highly available
- Fault Tolerant
- Highly scalable
- High throughput
- Low latency
- Secure
- Monitored
- **Proven experience in**:

- Cloud native architecture
- Microservices Architecture
- Event Driven Architecture
- API First Design Principle
- Technical knowledge and ability in the following fields:

- Various industry standard design/development patterns and best practices
- Strong software development and troubleshooting background
- Strong knowledge of one or more of programming languages
- Use of JavaScript frameworks such as ReactJS and Angular
- HTML, CSS, Node.js experience
- Java (Spring Framework / Spring Boot experience)
- Python
- Databases SQL language and scripting (PostgreSQL, MySQL)
- AWS (Amazon Web Services) or other cloud-based infrastructures & services
- Knowledge of the end-to-end software development lifecycle
- Excellent communication skills are essential.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple complex initiatives
- Documentation of relevant design artefacts (use cases, user stories, sequence diagrams etc)
