Our client within the manufacturing industry requires an experienced Production Team Leader

**JOB DESCRIPTION**

Coordinate the day-to-day activities of a team of production workers to ensure that manufacturing operations run according to established production specifications and schedules; volume, cost, and wastage targets; and quality standards.
- Manage a shift of the conveyor manufacturing team through ensuring that daily shift requirements are achieved.
- Responsible for the management of shifts covering all production disciplines i.e. quality, production flow, waste control, etc.
- Ensuring that production personnel consistently maintain housekeeping standards
- Management of production personnel in terms of employee development, discipline, timekeeping, personnel records, etc.
- Management of department costs and cost commitments within budget allocations.
- Management of outgoing quality as well as quality systems and standards through the Quality Circles.
- Management for Daily Improvement (MDI) through the Gemba process.
- Process Owner and driver of 6S and Cell flow processes
- Effectively plan what is to be achieved and involve all relevant role players.
- Anticipate important or critical events identifying resource requirements and assigning responsibility for specific work, including deadlines and performance expectations
- Ability to monitor progress and to make changes as required
- Willingness to accept responsibility and accountability for own actions
- Practice good customer relations management
- Ability to balance the needs of the company and the needs of the customer
- Ability to map processes of possible consequences of decisions, to work out the importance of individual factors and to choose the best course of action.
- Skill in effective communicating, problem solving and negotiating with focus on party interests

**KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED**
- 3 - 5 Years in a production environment as a Team Leader
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Monitor the volume and quality of output and adjust tasks, timing, equipment set-up, or inputs so that production specifications are met and resources are used efficiently
- Manage staff to ensure that all production tasks are performed, and all machines and equipment operated, safely
- Train new workers on the organization’s operating procedures and standards
- Prepare production reports so that performance problems can be identified and resolved

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Relevant Degree or professional/operations qualification or
- Relevant and significant operational experience at a level equivalent to the above qualification
