The Client

Our International client who is based in the UK, is in search of a DevOps Platform Manager to join their team. This is a contracting role.

Role Purpose

Lead DevOps & CI/CD Platform Manager to design, build & manage our DevOps tooling.

Supporting the full CI/CD pipeline, including source code repository, configuration management processes, code scanning & security testing, and automated build & deployment.

Be able to support Azure DevOps with Terraform in all development and testing environments through to production.

**Responsibilities**:

- Managing and resolving issues with the DevOps tooling
- Designing the full CICD pipeline and associated processes (e.g. git branching strategy)
- Development of self-service capabilities, template deployments
- Stakeholder management, from requirements gathering to ongoing support
- Gathering requirements from development teams and other relevant stakeholders
- Researching and evaluating products to meet the requirements, including proof-of-concept testing
- Documenting the proposed approach and reviewing that documentation with necessary stakeholders
- Documentation of user guides & processes
- Migration to the designed solution, providing training & support for developers
- Integration with operational tools & processes
- Integration with collaboration & workflow tools

Skillset Required (or demonstration of similar skills that can be transferred)
- A minimum of five years experience of effective business solution delivery using the DevOps toolset, including:

- Strong DevOps culture, with knowledge of good practices and patterns, and understanding of how code can be delivered rapidly and securely in a modern environment
- Good understanding of Azure technology, including IaaS & PaaS services, virtual networks, availability zones and regions, etc
- GitLab for our source control and GitLab-CI for our CICD pipeline
- Terraform for infrastructure as code
- Able to identify issues, analyse implications, consider options and evaluate risks
- Manage the Automation Engineering Team services, ensuring that delivery meets expectations and service levels are maintained
- Directly responsible for the health and operation of CI/CD tools and platforms
- Approachable & empathetic, Professional and discreet
- Organised and methodical, be able to prioritise multiple projects and work to deadlines
- Clear and concise written and spoken communication skills with good presentations skills
- You can listen to the needs of technical and business stakeholders and interpret them. You know how to manage stakeholder expectations. You are flexible and capable of proactive and reactive communication. You know how to facilitate difficult discussions within the team or with diverse senior stakeholders. (Relevant skill level: practitioner)

Desirable Skills
- Experience in ITIL practices or of availability and capacity management of services
- Familiarity with security/vulnerability tools
- Experience in designing the infrastructure
- Working with or contributing directly to Open-Source projects

Qualifications and Training
- Certifications in DevOps and in Agile
- Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert
