Storeman

**PURPOSE OF POSITION**
The purpose of this role is to support the Stores Department by managing the receiving, issuing, and movement of inventory, hardware, consumables, and leather. The Storeman ensures accurate record-keeping, safe handling of materials, and timely stock availability to support smooth operational flow across departments.

**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Receive and inspect incoming goods
- Issue materials and consumables to departments
- Assist with loading and off-loading of trucks
- Maintain housekeeping standards in the store area
- Participate in stocktakes and cycle counts
- Operate a forklift for material handling (where licensed)
- Process and file stock movement documentation, including GRNs and issue slips
- Follow safety and operational procedures

**SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES**
- Basic computer literacy
- Valid forklift licence
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Good organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Physically capable of handling warehouse tasks
- Willingness to take initiative and work independently

**REQUIREMENTS**
- **Matric Certificate (Grade 12)** - **Required**:

- 1-2 years’ experience in a stores, warehouse, or hardware environment
- Valid forklift licence - **Required**:

- Willingness to work overtime when needed
- Familiarity with stock documentation and inventory processes
