Oversee day-to-day operations on building construction sites, from groundwork to final handover.
Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, site foremen, and suppliers to ensure smooth project execution.
Monitor project progress against schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
Conduct and manage regular site meetings and progress reporting.
Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with building regulations, health and safety legislation, and company procedures.
Manage and mentor site teams, foremen, and general workers, ensuring productivity and morale remain high.
Resolve site-related issues promptly and effectively, escalating when necessary.
Ensure timely ordering and delivery of materials and equipment.
Conduct inspections to ensure work quality and adherence to specifications.
Enforce safety compliance and lead toolbox talks, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
**Qualifications and Requirements**:
Minimum 15 years' proven experience in building construction (residential, commercial, or industrial buildings).
Trade qualification or diploma/degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering.
Extensive experience working for a contractor (not client-side or consultancy).
In-depth understanding of building construction methods, materials, and regulations.
Proven track record in managing building sites from inception to completion.
**Skills & Competencies**:
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
Proficient in reading and interpreting building plans, drawings, and specifications.
Effective time management and organizational skills.
Sound knowledge of construction software (e.g., MS Project, CCS Candy, etc.).
Ability to work under pressure and resolve challenges on-site quickly.
**Additional Requirements**:
Valid driver’s license and own transport.
Willingness to travel to different sites as required.
Strong references from previous building projects.
