Job Description
- Provide input into the budget and manage and report on budget usage that reflects delivery of planned work within agreed parameters
- Creates solutions to meet customer demands
Deliver internal and external customer service excellence through adherence to quality service standards
- Ensure compliance with relevant statutory, legislative, policy and governance requirements in area of accountability
- Ensure development and continuous value add improvement to operational processes
- Compile reports that track progress and guide business to make informed decisions
- Review prepared commentary on profit or loss movements by team members and provide recommendations
- Provide an advisory role regarding compliance related decisions for the desk, ensuring the trades entered into are within firm mandate
- Understand and review current product control processes and procedures to advise on improvements and leveraging of efficiencies
- Perform a quality assurance role, ensuring that the work delivery of the product control team meets the relevant standard
- Identify and plan the implementation of corrective action where work delivery is misaligned to organisational expectations
- Develop, implement, conduct and report upon an operational risk testing plan across the product offerings
- Identify control deficiencies and proactively manage, where appropriate, the remediation of deficiencies across all business areas, providing support to impacted areas
- Engage in complex investigations to resolution, acting as escalation point for atypical product control issues
- Create periodic metrics and reporting of test results to be presented to the applicable committees with oversight of the product offerings
- Provide risk management support and guidance to product heads, specialists and leads
- Advise the front office on all financial and accounting matters relating to new business, products and structures
- Coordinate the completion and delivery of the tasks allocated to the team according to stipulated policies and procedures
- Manage the reporting of the daily profit and loss to the front office and reconciled between the finance ledger and management reporting tools
Oversee that the relevant profit and loss and balance sheet positions are correctly reported at month-end, that the applicable reconciliations have been completed and all issues have been identified and timeously resolved
