- REPORTING TO THE PRODUCTION MANAGER- JOB PURPOSE:
- To supervise and lead the performance of the shift and its operating staff by ensuring the required targets are achieved- JOB FUNCTION:
- Production Support- Customer delivery dates are achieved (100%)- Machines and production equipment is maintained- Departmental COC’s are updated- Breakdowns are reported and recorded and maintenance undertaken as required- Daily shop floor planning as per schedule supplied- Daily production reported is updated in required format- Down time is reduced and delays in the production process are minimised- Quality file is updated and maintained as per standards- Final packing is supervised as required SHEQ Management- OSH ACT is implemented as per standard requirements- Zero lost time injuries, housekeeping as per departmental standards- Quality standards are maintained for all produced items and quality checks are performed as required- PPE is ordered and maintained as required and any issues are recorded- Near Misses, Incidents, Innovations and feedback are logged as per departmental standards- Potential hazards and unsafe acts are identified and reported on Supervised Shift- Company HR and Disciplinary policy is adhered to- Time and attendance is monitored according to company policy- Coaching and technical direction is provided according to staff needs- Daily meetings are held with team and feedback provided to relevant stakeholders- All training is recorded in required format- Relevant procedures and policies are updated and followed as per quality requirements- Production scrap is kept to a minimum as per agreed target- Overtime is kept to a minimum as per agreed target- Acceptable raw material and spares for machinery is held in inventory- Production input and outputs are achieved as per required target- Consumption of material must be recorded.-
**Inherent Requirements**
- QUALIFICATION & REQUIREMENTS:
- Diploma (Operations Management/Metallurgical Eng/Mechanical Eng/Chemical Eng/Industrial Eng)- 5 years experience in a similar role- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles, overall equipment effectiveness, process optimisation and problem solving techniques- Report writing skills (drafting of daily / weekly / monthly production reports)- Identifies safety issues and takes corrective action, quality orientated, problem solver, can build a successful team, initiates collaboration, contributes to team success, has good planning, organising and communication skills- Displays knowledge of raw materials, production processes and other techniques for maximising the effective manufacture of goods- Displays knowledge of machines and tools, including their uses, repair and maintenance- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Excel and Outlook) and JDE or ERP systems- The Supervisor will be expected to work shifts**What Qualification**
