PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
Provides support to Africa region by participating, developing or implementing a variety of human resources programs or activities.

This role will be responsible for the leading our HR operations in the areas of payroll for SA, Uganda and Kenya including managing employee data, leave management, HR reporting, compensation & benefit alignment and benchmarking, employee wellness, vendor management and budget/ expense management.

JOB SUMMARY:

- 35 % - Coordinates with other generalists to ensure consistency in approach and compliance with firm wide human resources programs and policies.
- 25 % - Performs tasks relating to payroll, compensation and benefits, regulation and statutory law that may impact payroll, taxation and benefits, BBBEE reporting across business lines/units.
- 20 % - Uses knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve products or services.
- 20 % - May act as a resource for colleagues with less experience; works under moderate guidance.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Payroll Management
- The administration of the financial records of employees who are employed by AIG South Africa Limited.
- Work Day maintenance - a global AIG system that maintains employee data, Remuneration, & Performance Management which filters through to all systems which also is in sync with Payroll data.
- SoluGrowth Payroll Management are administers of AIG payroll processing & leave management through an effective ESS system. SoluGrowth processes the following through payroll:

- Salaries,
- New Hires
- Terminations
- Increases
- Employee data
- Bonuses,
- Net pay,
- Deductions
- Leave management
- Statutory payments
- 3rd party payments
- Non - Executive directors payroll
- Ensure timely and accurate execution of Payroll stabilization plan for SA through execution of payroll as per SOP, payroll contingency plan, mitigation action in payroll in event of identified system and process gaps.
- Ensure timely reporting of operational risk incidents including audit exercise and results.
- Manage and process payroll for SA, Uganda and Kenya branches.

Operations & Service Delivery
- Ensure Workday system is updated regularly and accurately in line with HRSS guidelines, governance and control to drive data accuracy and reporting.
- HR Reporting ( Leave Liability, Employment Equity,, Workday, SET, REMCO and Board Committee reporting)
- KPI target Management
- Employment Equity Maintenance
- Workmen's Compensation
- Vendor Management
- Record Management
- Vendor Payments ( Retainers, Recruitment & Employee training payments )
- Employee data & File Management
- Post retirement medical aid maintenance
- Termination processing

Compensation and Reward
- Formulates competitive salary packages within Compensation & Benefits guidelines:

- Preparation of compensations proposal for new hires
- Preparation of compensation for promotions and salary adjustments for internal staff
- Support and partner with local HR and Compensation& Benefits CoE to successfully implement AIG Compensation & Benefits strategies aligned to global guidelines, standards, processes and procedures - (TDC guidelines (Compensation/STI/ LTI), promotions and salary adjustments.
- Restructuring - severance and termination payments.
- PWC Remchannel remuneration and benefits survey and market benchmarking in partnership with PWC on an annual basis
- Review and market benchmarking of AIG benefits and retention offerings (ie. package restructuring, benefits and retentions) in partnership with service provider.

Budget & Expense Management
- Partner with HRBP to deliver and achieve GOE budget for HR and Business Units relating to payroll & benefit cost, admin fees, training, wellness program, consulting and retainer fees aligned to HR allocations, compliance to financial/ corporate policy guidelines through monthly expense reviews of HR headcount cost and operational expenses against approved budget.
- Payment processing HR expenses/ third parties via internal systems (ie. Ariba and Concur).
- Partner with HR and Finance teams for Human Capital data reporting for QBR and SALPLAN reporting.

Expats Management
- Management, support and governance of Expats payments and benefits (housing, schools, utilities and other).
- Management of taxation in partnership with Ernest and Young.

On-boarding of Employees
- Support and partner with Field HR in onboarding all new employees through implementation of Induction program focusing on External Vendors Presentations - Medical Aid, Pension Fund, Risk benefit and Employee Welln
