**Applications are invited for the above-mentioned position based at the James Sedgwick Distillery in Wellington. This position reports to the Engineering Specialist: Wellington whilst also servicing the Van Ryn and Cooperage sites in Stellenbosch.**:
Key Performance Areas would include, but are not limited to:

- Establish and maintain an up-to-date asset and equipment register in SAP
- Establish and maintain sound maintenance plans and practices
- Develop and maintain asset structure and expand downwards to component level where required
- Develop work instructions (task list) for scheduled maintenance orders
- Maintain master data
- Align system driven schedules with machine and resource availability
- Procurement of engineering related services, equipment and spares parts - Provide information on the delivery dates and expediting of service, equipment and spares parts for on time completion of planned work
- Administer and manage service/inspection contracts for 3rd party / OEM maintenance on selected equipment
- Scoping of work
- Ensure critical spares availability
- Ensure all type of work orders are scheduled, printed, issued and received by the maintenance staff and contractors timeously
- Capture artisan data and closing of job cards and booking of man-hours
- Assist with planning and execution of engineering (CAPEX and Abnormal maintenance) and maintenance shutdown projects
- Long-term and short-term planning and scheduling
- Assist with compiling and managing relevant annual budgets to align with timeous maintenance requirements
- Manage maintenance related cash flow on a continuous basis
- Monitor, plan and ensure timeous execution of all statutory work according to legislation related to machinery in the plant
- Maintain Engineering, SHE, Food Safety and Quality related documentation (Pressure Vessel register, Machinery Safety assessments, critical checklists, emissions testing, hygienic engineering etc.) and participate in audits
- Produce clear and accurate maintenance reports
- Reducing downtime and effective management of responsibilities
- Relevant technical qualification (i.e. N3 or higher + Trade Test or National Diploma in Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering)
- Computer literate (Knowledge of SAP PM compulsory)
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in maintenance planning
- Self-starter that can perform on his/her own as well as function within a team environment
- Must have project scheduling and planning experience (time requirements, time allocations, resource planning, and spare parts management)
- Able to analyse data and convert it to useful information and actions
- Technical procurement experience - Able to handle suppliers rigidly and procure technical equipment
- Solid experience in reliability centred maintenance and root cause analysis will be highly advantageous
- Strong knowledge of factory legislation and regulations
- Good interpersonal skills and strong communication skills (written and oral)
- Strong technical and administrative aptitude and experience is required
- Willing and able to assist after hours should an operational emergency arise
- Driver's license and own reliable transport
- Willingness to travel locally between sites
