SENIOR LECTURER - Two positions- The University of Pretoria's commitment to quality makes us one of the top research Universities in the country and gives us a competitive advantage in international science and technology development._

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Lecturing at undergraduate and postgraduate level;
- The supervision of postgraduate students;
- The supervision of industrial psychology internships;
- Scientific research and publications in the Industrial Psychology and Human Resource Management fields; and
- Liaising with students and other stakeholders.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Lecturer
- A Masters degree with specialisation in the field of Industrial Psychology;
- Registered with the HPCSA as an Industrial Psychologist;
- One publication in an accredited journal, OR
- A chapter in a peer reviewed book, OR
- Evidence of a research component in the Master’s degree, OR
- A published conference paper, OR
- An equivalent recognised research output; and
- Demonstrated teaching potential.

Senior Lecturer
- A doctoral degree with specialisation in the field of Industrial Psychology;
- Registered with the HPCSA as an Industrial Psychologist;
- At least 2 accredited publications and/or equivalent recognised scholarly outputs (accepted and/or published);
- At least 2 completed Master’s students or involvement with PhD supervision;
- At least 3 year’s relevant tertiary teaching experience and demonstrated competence; and
- Evidence of professional engagements.

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES (SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND BEHAVIOURAL ATTRIBUTES):

- Appropriate language proficiency and communication skills; and
- Computer literacy

ADDED ADVANTAGES AND PREFERENCES:

- Registered member at the South African Board for People Practices; and
- Practical experience in commerce or industry.

PLEASE NOTE: Shortlisted applicants may be required to do a 10/15 minutes presentation to the selection committee of the department prior to formal interview.

The annual remuneration package will be commensurate with the incumbent’s level of appointment, as determined by UP policy guidelines. UP subscribes to the BESTMED and UMVUZO medical aid schemes and contributes 50% of the applicable monthly premium.
