Executive: Financial Reporting, Tax and Treasury

**Role Purpose**

To lead and direct the Financial Reporting, Treasury and Tax Departments to ensure that all financial reports are accurate and issued in a timely manner, and that financial data obtained from the IT systems is reliable, according to statutory procedures, as well as sound financial principles are being utilized throughout the Finance Department, thus, to ensure the effectiveness and accuracy of the company’s financial information. To ensure the tax compliance of Liquid SA entity and end to end Treasury function of the Liquid SA entity.

**Role Description**

Strategic Leadership

Formulate and implement tax, treasury and reporting policies, procedures, and practices. - Formulate and implement accounting policies, procedures, and practices. - Define departmental goals and operational objectives with Chief Financial Officer - Ensure reporting requirements comply with applicable legislation, policies, standards, regulations. - Ensure effective and efficient tax strategy is in place.

Financial Reporting

Oversee process to ensure timely distribution of accurate and complete Monthly Management Reports Internal All Employees - Compile and distribute KPI information. - Produce Annual and Quarterly Financial Statements (IFRS) - Distribute monthly and quarterly reports for shareholders and related stakeholders. - Prepare and review monthly consolidation of the Group companies. - Perform ad-hoc reporting upon requests for external parties (e.g. Stats SA, Reserve Bank, Financial Institutions) - Ensure Financial accounts and management reports reconcile. - Ensure compliance with all the companies’ regulatory requirements and all filings required are done timeously and accurately in collaboration the company secretariate.

Stay updated on all regulatory changes and IFRS. - Develop a holistic, detailed view of Capex, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow performance and articulate this int the MMR. - Manage the month end calendar and the closure of the periods. - Prepare and distribute the monthly statutory pack in line with the IFRS requirements. - Prepare and consult with external auditors on the annual financial statements. - Prepare and engage with business on technical accounting matters related to new and ongoing business transactions and or new contracts to provide technical accounting opinions.

Taxes

Manage the relationship with the Group Tax for taxes alignment. - Manage the internal tax team specializing in corporate and transactional taxes. - Manage and ensure timeously preparation, review, and submissions of all taxes for the Cassava Group as per related legislation. - Support the audit process specifically for taxes. - Review tax treatments for trade transactions for the Liquid SA entity. - Prepare regular reporting for stakeholders (i.e. Board reports) - Manage and engage SARS with regards to the group of company’s taxes - Prepare and present any tax updates with the business relevant to the business of the company. - Prepare, Maintain and Update Liquid SA tax risk register. Ensure that Risk are adequate highlighted and quantified.

Treasury

Maintain relationship with all key Financial Institutes that Liquid transacts with. - Maintain and ensure Healthy liquidity position for the Liquid Entity Internal All Employees - Ensure end to end controls, policies and process are in place within the Treasury environment. - Advise the CFO on the effective treasury management to optimise returns on our positive bank balances and investment. - Ensure accurate Cashflow budgeting and forecasting is in place. - Ensure All Company’s loans are accounted for, and governance reporting processes are met. - Support Group Treasury and partner in ensuring a healthy liquidity position for that SA Operations - Ensure all risk assessments are performed on all financial instruments that are used by Liquid SA entity. - Report all Treasury matters accurately and timely. - Support Internal and External audit processes within the area. - Ensure effective reporting tools (i.e. systems) in place to manage the treasury function.

Legislation Compliance

Ensure reporting requirements comply with applicable legislation, policies, standards, regulations. - Keep abreast with all IFRS, tax and relevant laws.

Cost and Budget Management

Prepare the budget within area of control. - Manage the approved budget for area. - Prepare cost tracking and variation reports. - Make recommendations for budget-affecting change requests. - Inform CFO timeously of potential over-spends.

Systems and Policies

In conjunction with IT, ensure that the Financial Systems function optimally. - Develop / Supervise the development of appropriate policies, process and procedures in Finance that ensure financial reporting integrity.
