- Will mostly be responsible for local stock purchases - Action Stock Transfer Orders placed on CPS by DNW branches - Run MRP for materials loaded on MRP (local purchases) - Run consumption reports whilst MRP is not fully implemented yet - Process purchase requisitions - Identify suitable source of supply - Compliance to BBBEE requirements - Obtain quotes according to the purchasing policy - Manage the quotation process - Create and maintain info and source lists - Ensure appropriate approvals - Place orders on suppliers - Investigate alternate sources of supply when necessary - Investigate substitute products to reduce costs and encourage competiveness - Proactively avoid business interruption related to unreliable supply and/or adverse economic/industry conditions - Liaises with suppliers and all other stakeholders - Negotiate best pricing and terms of payment prior to placing orders on SAP - Prepare a payment schedule for the finance department - Produce general reports and statistics where required - Comply with Haggie’s order process and all other R2P processes applicable - Ensure orders are delivered on time and expedite late deliveries - Assist with import buying if and when required - Assist with stock takes
- Inherent Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in local purchasing - Knowledge of import buying will be advantageous - Must be computer literate with good knowledge of SAP materials management - MS Office - advanced excel skills - Good negotiation skills - Has good organizational, interpersonal and interactive communication skills
