**Job Purpose**:
To inspect public roads with regards to traffic operations.

**Key Responsibility Areas**:
Ensure that the appropriate traffic safety and maintenance standards of all construction works, roadworks sites, road marking, traffic signs and public transport facilties are adhered to in terms of the Road Traffic Act.

Determines the state of cleanliness of public transport ranks and arranges for the necessary cleaning with the relevant Departments.

Ensure that unauthorised signs are not erected on road reserves and take appropriate corrective action.

Prepares depositions for contraventions of bylaws relating to roadworks construction. Investigates with City Police and making recommendations to the technical staff and Manager Traffic Operations regarding the posision of scholar patrols and preparation of sketch plan. Keeping records of all street name signs that require replacing and arranging for the reinstallation.

Attends to letters of complaints by members of the public.

Supervises contracts by programming work, quality control, reconciliation and prior approval of monthly payments for various amounts.

**Essential Requirements**:
Matric/Grade 12.

Valid motor vehicle drivers licence (Code EB)

18 Months relevant experience.

**Preferred Requirements**:
24 Months relevant experience.
