**Purpose of the Job**:
The main purpose of the Online Merchandiser is to Assist the buying team with the Checkers Food Services ecommerce offering, including sales, the selection of the online product range and the merchandising and promotion of this business unit. Perform product data analysis, competitor and market research and recommend merchandising solutions to achieve customer experience and campaign objectives, as well as executing said solution (daily, weekly and monthly).

**Job Objectives**:

- Responsible for working closely with the buying team in selecting the product range which best promotes the offer and maximises sales.
- Responsible for the effective digital merchandising of the product range:

- overall layout and look and feel of the site
- effective search and discoverability
- implementation of site merchandising (daily, weekly, monthly)
- product page optimisation
- promotions strategy in line with objectives of the BU
- manage creative assets in an easily accessed archive
- set up and manage merchandising assets
- support the execution of the marketing strategies on the site
- Ensure digital channels are rich with content and enable customers to easily discover products within the catalogue.
- Assist with the product catalogue and work with the product coordination teams to ensure the integrity of the product catalogue is maintained at all times.
- Work closely with the buying and marketing teams in setting up promotions which maximise sales.
- Report on predetermined KPI’s whereby the online site will be measured.
- Responsible to continually contribute towards a culture of excellence and ambition.
- Responsible to maintain an attitude of accountability, integrity and excellence.

**Qualifications**:
**Essential**
- Matric
- NQ Level 6 diploma

**Desirable**
- Digital courses

**Experience**:
**Essential**
- +2 years experience in CMS and Ecommerce
- +2 years eperience working with Product Merchandising tools and teams
- +2 years experience in retail buying

**Knowledge and Skills**:

- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- A track record of analytical thinking and problem solving
- A flair for sales, merchandising and customer experience
- Flexibility to manage a business that can operate 24/7/365
- A desire to continually learn, improve and go the extra mile
- An attitude of accountability and excellence
- A passion for and interest in online retail
- A desire to learn and grow within the liquor retail category
