**Job Purpose**:
The Generator Repairs and Services Mechanic is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and servicing of diesel

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Diagnostics and Troubleshooting**:

- Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues with generators, including engines, alternators, control panels, and related systems.
- Use specialized tools and diagnostic equipment to assess generator problems and propose solutions.
- **Repairs and Maintenance**:

- Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, filter replacements, fuel system checks, and battery inspections.
- Conduct repairs on engines, fuel systems, exhaust systems, cooling systems, and electrical wiring.
- Replace faulty parts, including belts, bearings, gaskets, and other mechanical components.
- **Preventive Maintenance Services**:

- Develop and execute preventive maintenance schedules for generators to avoid breakdowns and extend the lifespan of equipment.
- Inspect generators regularly for wear and tear, leaks, and other issues that may affect performance.
- **Emergency Repairs**:

- Respond promptly to generator breakdowns and provide emergency repairs to restore functionality.
- Ensure mínimal downtime by quickly diagnosing and repairing faults.
- **Testing and Commissioning**:

- Test generators to ensure they meet operational standards and safety requirements.
- Commission new generators and verify their performance under different load conditions.
- **Documentation and Reporting**:

- Maintain accurate records of all services, repairs, and parts used for each generator.
- Report any major repairs needed to the supervisor and provide recommendations for replacements when necessary.
- **Safety Compliance**:

- Follow all safety protocols when working with high-voltage equipment and hazardous materials.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- **Education**:

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certification or technical training in diesel or gas engine repair is preferred.
- **Experience**:

- Minimum of [X] years of experience in generator maintenance, repair, and servicing.
- Familiarity with diesel and gas engines, alternators, and control panels.
- **Skills**:

- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Understanding of electrical systems and generator control panels.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- **Physical Requirements**:

- Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment (up to [X] kg).
- Willingness to work in various environments, including outdoor and industrial settings.
- Flexibility to work irregular hours, including weekends and emergencies, when needed.

**Experience**:

- 5 to 10 years of experience in generator maintenance, repair, and servicing.
- Familiarity with diesel and gas engines, alternators, and control panels.

**Additional Requirements**:

Pay: R15 000,00 - R30 000,00 per month
