Alongside our in-house brands, we partner with global e-commerce platforms to offer a variety of solutions for businesses, including hyper-delivery and micro-fulfilment as a service. Our buyers are the engine that keep SKC running This is a fast-paced role in a critical function of the business that works hand-in-hand with our stores to ensure that we have the right products, at the right time, in the right place. You’ll be responsible for the ordering of our stock ensuring that no stores are under or over-stocked to ensure optimal customer experience and mínimal waste. Communication, problem-solving, team-work and expert organisational skills are the keys to success in this role. What You'll Do - Be in charge of managing the supply of stock to ensure our stores receive high-quality products in time - Work closely with suppliers to ensure on-time, in-full deliveries and follow up on shortages & missed deliveries - Manage the inventory of our products on a daily basis - Assemble and report on data relating to supplier performance, identifying opportunities for improvement - Negotiate with existing and new suppliers to drive efficiencies and reduce costs - Identify trends in the market and working with existing and new suppliers to identify and source new and exciting products that capitalise on these trends - Assist with cost reporting and invoice validation - Own the end to end ordering process - be the expert on all operational concerns for products in your database - Work cross-functionally with other teams to optimise our supply set up - Presenting to senior stakeholders to gain support for key decisions or strategic projects **Qualifications** What You'll Bring - At least 12 months experience in FMCG sales, procurement, or e-commerce is required - An organised approach to work and the ability to think on your feet to solve problems as they arise - Strong verbal and written communication skills - Excellent analytical skills, advanced Google Sheets / Excel skills - A "whatever it takes" mentality that drives you to find solutions quickly, when required - Proactive, confident and able to work in an evolving, unstructured environment while driving towards structure - Demonstrable experience in strong negotiations - Team player mentality with enthusiasm for working in a high performing cross functional team - Ability to build strong relationships and influence key stakeholders - Be based in Cape Town **Additional Information** What's in it for you - Market-level salary (R18 000) - Hybrid role with offices based in Cape Town - Supportive team: in a growth-minded company with opportunities to learn and grow.
