**The Role**

The Analyst is responsible for assessing project bankability, financing options for projects, creating financial models and managing financing processes. The role will report directly the Senior Project Finance Manager and will focus on project financial analysis and derived thereof on determining whether a project is bankable or not.

**Responsibilities**:

- Performance financial due diligence and analysis on prospective projects and recommend an investment decision.
- Develop an investment and funding policy aligned to the company strategy and an investment criterion for evaluating the best repayment outcome for projects.
- Create financial models that enhance return on investment of projects and financial planning.
- Analyse company accounts and financial projections and advise the company on how to best position its investments.
- Liaising with fund managers, company managers, stock market traders, stockbrokers and regulators with a view to expanding funding access while improving market perception.
- In-depth examination of the investment portfolio to identify savings and other value enhancements such as refinancing..
- Compiling research on competitor investment and the market as a whole.
- Preparing presentations to be delivered to the senior investment team and developing high-end presentations for potential client's and financing institutions.

**Requirements**:

- BA/BCOM degree in Economics or Finance or other related field.
- 3-4 years’ experience in the same or similar role. Experience in an investment bank would be an added advantage.
- Analytical understanding of the renewable energy market excellent knowledge of MS Excel based financial modelling.
- Experience in Project Finance of renewable energy projects is desirable.
- Experience in working across functional teams is desirable.
- Knowledge of the REIPPP programme in South Africa is desirable.
