Quality Assurance Manager

The Quality Assurance Manager implements Duke CE Africa’s internal quality management system (monitoring and evaluation) of all learning interventions to ensure compliance with all relevant Education and Training Quality Standards prescribed by various Quality Councils.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Submission of new programmes for accreditation to the relevant Quality Council
- Coordinate the process of registration and accreditation of higher education programmes with the Higher Education Quality Council within the Council for Higher Education
- Coordinate the process of accreditation of occupational qualifications with the Quality Council for Trades and Occupations and/or the relevant Sector Education and Training Authority
- Assist the Academic director in the development of higher education programmes and qualification
- Manage the development of curricula and learning resources for qualifications ensuring they meet all requirements as set out by the Higher Education Quality Council and represent the best possible practice in terms of curriculum design at a higher education level
- Submit new curriculum content for accreditation and, if conditions are imposed, ensure that appropriate amendments are addressed, and the content is resubmitted until approved.
- Owns the monitoring and evaluation of the end-to-end quality assurance process to ensure the quality of the programme/qualification and its delivery with regards to:
- Teaching and learning
- Assessments, moderation, and verification
- Capacitation of all staff to comply with the quality assurance system and processes
- Programme reviews and impact measurement
- Oversight of Student Registration, Guidance and Support:
- Monitor, evaluate and quality assure the processes of student recruitment, admission, retention, progression, graduation, and career planning
- Monitor all student guidance and support.
- Evaluate, monitor, and report on all relevant arrangements related to training:
- Prepare Internal Quality Assurance Reports
- Coordinate quality assurance projects including regulatory and quality assurance site visits and associated submissions including site and document preparation
- Develop, implement, and sustain institution-wide stakeholder-driven quality management and assurance systems and processes
- Risk assessment and mitigation
- Learning and teaching
- Assessment and moderation
- Student support mechanisms (academic and other)
- Staff support and development
- Resource provisioning (including library resources)
- Administration (including admission, issuing of results, certification)
- Quality management of the emergency processes.
- Prepare annual trend reports from external evaluation and accreditation reports
- Liaise with the Department of Higher Education and Training, Council on Higher Education, South African Qualifications Authority, relevant professional bodies, and other Higher Education Institutions

- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, Project
- Strong analytical and report generation skills using and manipulating Excel and other data to reporting
- Able to effectively lead and engage others.
- Ability to work effectively independently as well as in a team.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated organization, coordination and monitoring and evaluation skills.
- Relates well to all kinds of people inside and outside of the organization; builds appropriate rapport; builds constructive and effective relationships; uses diplomacy and tact.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Enjoys working in a fast-paced, customer-oriented environment in which commitment to a common mission and reliance upon and support of other team members is expected and valued.
- Experience in quality management at a higher education institution of learning is highly recommended.
- Knowledge of higher education policies related to teaching and learning, academic planning, and quality assurance
- Demonstrated ability to manage self and own output and to work to tight deadlines while retaining impeccable levels of accuracy.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Minimum Honours degree in Quality Management or relevant field.
- Min 2+ years’ experience in a quality assurance/management role in a higher education institution, including responsibility for institutional audits, programme accreditations and external reviews.
- Own vehicle and driver’s license
Role is based in Bryanston, Johannesburg and work is conducted from the office. This is not a remote working role.
