Production Planner Automotive ~ Manufacturing

Durban - Kwa Zulu Natal - South Africa

Reporting to the Production Manager, you will be required to plan and optimise production processes to achieve company objectives.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

- National Diploma/Degree - Industrial Engineering or Operations Management
- Minimum 2 years Operational working experience in an automotive industry manufacturing environment

Key Performance Areas
- Plan and oversee production schedules
- Coordinate maintenance and repairs for manufacturing equipment
- Arrange changeovers based on Production Plans
- Input customer releases and production outputs into the MRP system
- Update daily Production Plans considering actual output, customer demand, materials, and capacity
- Maintain the MRP system (reconciliation, demand, and capacity alignment)
- Provide hardware maintenance and support for label printers and scanners
- Identify and implement corrective actions to enhance project quality
- Request and oversee the production of product samples
- Administer data, including OEE capturing and production reports
- Analyse daily packing data for planning purposes
- Support production meetings and manage KPI administration
- Monitor, evaluate, and communicate production schedules
- Administer CIP activities and process improvements
- Manage engineering change management and document updates
- Optimise production processes and maintain efficiencies
- Ensure efficient resource utilisation and balance production lines
- Monitor daily production targets and analyse variances for improvement opportunities
- Monitor production material levels and identify rejects and waste
