**Brief details of position**

Working within the finance department you will report directly to the Financial Controller. This position is based in Bellville. You shall assist the Financial Controller with a range of accounting matters and financial control issues.

**Purpose of the position**

To assist in ensuring high quality and timely management information, stewardship of company assets, regular accounting records updates and good financial relationships with customers, suppliers, staff and stakeholders.

**Qualification and experience**
- The job holder should have proven cash control and purchase ledger experience and a thorough understanding of the procedures involved in this type of role.
- Be able to do management accounts with supporting balance sheet reconciliations.
- Proficiency on payroll and a clear understanding of all statutory requirements.
- Good working knowledge of Excel and Word.
- Strong numerical skills.
- Finance degree or diploma

**Main responsibilities**
- Oversee purchase ledger activities for all the companies
- Posting of items to the general ledger
- Control of the and verification of all bank payments for all the companies
- Reconciliations of bank balances on a daily basis for all companies
- Monthly payroll processing for permanent staff
- Oversee and support the payroll department for temporary wages
- Weekly payroll journals processed into the general ledger
- Weekly transfer of debtor invoices
- Monthly trial balance on all companies with reconciliations on all balance sheet accounts
- Invoicing monthly rentals for all properties and tracking payment records
- PAYE reconciliation and payments on a monthly basis for all the companies
- VAT reconciliation and payments on a monthly basis for all the companies
- Managing and reconciling petty cash
- Monthly reporting of turnover and costs in order to calculate commission
- Weekly sales reporting
- Quarterly statistical information to be submitted
- Constant improvement of controls and procedures
- Build strong working relationships with both internal and external customers
