We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated and reliable Stock Controller to join our client’s metal components and manufacturing business. They will be a key player in the operations team. They will ensure that our Client has the right stock, at the right time, in the right place and in the right quantities. They will work closely with the procurement/finance team to plan and build the products, taking control of stock levels to maximize profit.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for the smooth running of daily stock
- Forecasting sales and stock levels to achieve sale plans and margin/profit for the business
- Monitoring the business performance and identifying opportunities of risk/loss
- Working closely with procurement/finance to successfully plan product ranges
- Evaluate the efficiency of the department whilst focusing on lead times and general performance
- Managing the weekly sales stock and input data and supporting manufacturing plans
- Develop and build strong relationships with suppliers/import agents
- Regular analysis of department performance to maximize commercial opportunities
- Own and control the nett achieved margin
- Through strategic planning and trading of the department, manage the stock requirements of the business
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- 2-3 years’ experience in a similar manufacturing related role
- An appropriate Degree/Diploma
- Proven track record of driving a department through creative thinking
- Previous experience working in the manufacturing industry dealing with multiple products
COMPETENCIES
- Awareness of current trends and what is happening in the manufacturing industry
- Strong organization skills, able to use initiative and to work in pressurized environment
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, effectively and appropriately with colleagues, suppliers and others at all levels
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively to deadlines, thriving on constant change in a fast-paced Business
