**Dean of Teaching & Learning**

**Requirements of the job**:
1.PhD or a Doctorate in Education is preferred, but a Master of Education degree is minimum requirement.
2.At least five years Academic Management experience in higher education
3.A proven teaching portfolio with academic operations experience.
4.Innovation in pedagogy and experience in online, contact, blended and distance learning.
5.Experience in dealing with regulatory affairs and academic quality assurance processes within a higher education environment.

**Job description**:
Aligned to group vision and strategy, the Dean of Teaching and Learning provides leadership, mentoring and focus on continuous improvement in teaching and learning and academic operations across all brands and in all faculties that inspires and assures lecturer and academic development; the evolution of innovative curricular and pedagogy for both contact and distance delivery; high levels of student engagement and support; and a culture and service devoted to student learning experience, success and employability.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:
Online staff development
Academic advisory centre
Product digitisation
Strategic rollout plan for digitisation of group course material and implementation thereof
Academic and Student support
Oversee credits, graduation, certification as well as assessments and assignments
Higher education operations/TVET education operations
Evaluation processes
Quality academic support to lecturers and students
Budget management
Manage people cost, departmental budget and monitor expenditure and budget variances
Planning and strategy
Formulating direction and support initiatives and implementation

8.Extensive knowledge of innovative Teaching and Learning modalities
9.Extensive knowledge and experience of developing pedagogic practice; and
10.Self-motivation and capacity for innovation
11. Experience in strategic planning and execution
12. Experience in formulating policy and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures
13. Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures
14. In depth knowledge of education and training legislature framework
15. A good understanding of teaching and learning, academic operations (Programmes development) as well as quality and planning
16. Tech Savvy
