**Minimum Requirements**:

- Proven experience/a strong portfolio of business-related writing.

- Basic understanding of digital content creation and publishing tools.
- Up to three years’ experience would be an advantage. This post is ideal for someone trying to establish their name in the financial journalism space.
- Strong research, writing, and interviewing skills.
- A sense for news and strong editorial judgment.
- Deadline driven.
- Attentive to detail and accuracy.
- Deeply curious and driven to uncover compelling business stories.

- Ability to work virtually and on some weekends/after hours.
- Willing to travel within SA.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:
**Reporting**
- Produce two to three stories per week on business and financial matters.
- Collaborate with the editorial team to identify and research story ideas that resonate with our audience.
- File clear, accurate, and engaging articles on deadline.

**Sources and Networks**
- Develop a network of contacts within the business and financial sectors.
- Conduct interviews with industry stakeholders and experts to provide depth and credibility to stories.

**Research**
- Monitor business news, market trends, and breaking developments to identify potential stories.
- Identify news stories that will set Daily Maverick apart in the financial space.

**Skills development**
- Participate in training and editorial meetings to enhance reporting, writing, and multimedia skills.

**Audience engagement and live journalism**
- Collaborate with the digital team to produce engaging content for online platforms, including social media.
- Engage with readers by participating in webinars, online forums, or Q&A sessions as needed.
