Electrical Mentor (Part-Time, Hourly Basis)

**Position Overview**

We are seeking an experienced and qualified **Electrical Mentor** to provide technical guidance, coaching, and professional development support to youth trainees in the energy and electrical fields. The mentor will engage with trainees for a minimum of **2 hours per week**, either **virtually or in person**, to ensure knowledge transfer, workplace readiness, and personal growth.

This role is ideal for a skilled electrical professional who is passionate about **youth development, skills transfer, and contributing to South Africa’s green economy**. The position is paid on an **hourly rate basis**.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Offer **career guidance and professional coaching**, helping youth to build confidence and align their skills with workplace expectations.
- Conduct **weekly mentorship sessions** (minimum 2 hours/week), either virtually or face-to-face.
- Assist in identifying **skills gaps** and recommending additional learning or resources.
- Share industry insights and best practices to prepare trainees for **employment, apprenticeships, or entrepreneurship**.
- Provide **feedback reports** on mentees’ progress and challenges to programme coordinators.

**Requirements**:

- **Minimum qualification**: Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or related field.
- **Professional registration/certification** with ECSA, EWSETA, or relevant professional body (advantageous).
- At least **5 years’ experience** in the electrical/energy sector.
- Demonstrated experience in **mentoring, coaching, or training** youth, interns, or apprentices.
- Strong understanding of **electrical safety standards, codes, and best practices**.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to conduct sessions **virtually (via Zoom/Teams)** or **in person**, depending on programme needs.

**Terms of Engagement**
- **Contract Type**: Hourly-based mentorship engagement.
- **Hours**: Minimum of **2 hours per week**, with flexibility for additional hours if required.
- **Location**: Hybrid - virtual sessions and/or physical sessions at training sites or workplaces.
- **Remuneration**: Paid on an agreed **hourly rate** (to be confirmed based on experience and market benchmarks).
- **Reporting**: Directly to the Programme Coordinator / Training Manager.
