**Job Purpose**:
To ensures effective management and coordination of various functions and activities within
System Operations Training Division.

**Key Responsibility Areas**:
Manages outcomes associated with utilization, productivity and performance of personnel
within System operations division.
Plans and prepares capital and operating budgets for the division and controls expenditure
against approved allocated budget.
Manages the formulation of specific related contracts and tender documents and controls the
contractual obligations.
Provides direction and control of training and associated projects, maintenance functions and
general operations of the System Operations training Centre.
Provides support to safe and effective control of the electrical network systems for supply
voltages up to 275kV.
Creates and promotes safety to operations of the electrical network and the surrounding
working environment.
Promotes and enhances operations and image of the business.
Provides continuous support through training and development of all staff including contractors
and trainees.
Manages, controls and coordinates specific generic and administrative duties of the division.
Disseminates functional and operational information on the immediate, short and long term
objectives and current developments, problems and constraints.

**Essential Requirements**:
National N Diploma in Electrical Engineering (heavy current) (NQF Level 6) from a Further
Education and Training College, registered with the Department of Higher Education and
Training. Must be authorised without restriction in terms of the System Operating Regulations
to operate up to 275 000 V.
Valid motor vehicle drivers license.
4 years relevant experience in electrical distribution and transmission, which must include
switching, isolating and earthing of mains and apparatus ranging from 230 V to 275 000 v for a
period of 1 year, and must have 2 years supervisory experience.

**Preferred Requirements**:
National Diploma in Electrical Engineering (NQF Level 6) (heavy current) or a Electrical
Engineering (heavy current) from a University of Technology accredited by the Council of
Higher Education and Training.

Registered with ECSA as a Professional Technician in Electrical Engineering.
6 Years relevant experience.
